In order to JB an iPhone, it is necessary to modify certain firmware files to enable the JB and unlock (if desired) If you use the official Apple files, you cannot JB. You have to use a tool to create a modified or custom_restore IPSW. It's the only way to JB. Who would hack your phone other than you, which is the idea. The only security issue was addressed with 3.0.1 update. I recommend doing some research before trying this or you next post will begin with the word "Help". Get a tutorial from the Internet. K kevhui macrumors regular Original poster Apr 24, 2008 172 0 Sep 21, 2009 #3 Thanks. By "hacking" I meant, for example, when I plug my iPhone to PC, my contacts address book will be sent to someone without my awareness.

AS long as your PC doesn't have a virus or trojan, your contacts will be safe. The issue you seem to be worried about is a PC issue, not iPhone liability. If you are that worried about it, get a Mac !!
