Let me preface this question by saying that I am working with the latest beta of iOS 13, so perhaps I am dealing with a bug...

However, I noticed that iTunes, now the new Apple Music app, works completely different than what we have all experienced before.

Instead of pop-ups appearing when you connect your phone to your computer, the sync seems to be automatic. That's fine.

The question I have is, why when I sync my music from computer to iPhone, it goes into the cloud instead of actually putting the file on my iPhone.

This results in me having to manually download the songs from the cloud before I play them.

Is this normal? I believe I have the cloud option turned off on my computer when ripping the music to it.

Anyone experiencing this?

Thanks

You might have either iTunes Match or Apple Music on, which enables iCloud music library by default.
I don’t have iTunes Match or Apple Music, and every time I sync my iTunes library to my iPhone, I can immediately listen to the music synced to my iPhone. No need to download.

That might be the problem, thank you so much, though I never had the problem prior to iOS 13.

I just downgraded from the beta back to iOS 12 because of things like this. It's hard to tell if this is a new function of a program or a bug within the beta.

I keep telling myself year after year not to upgrade to the betas but the excitement gets the best of me.

Thanks for responding. Enjoy your weekend.
