I'm running 12.5.1 on a Mac Mini M1 Machine. It was shut down, I started it up and this is making the machine slow. Any ideas?

I've seen this before. It seems that Spotlight indexing processes are restricted to the M1 efficiency cores. When doing heavy indexing after a fresh boot, these processes will max out the efficiency cores, which appears to leave little head room to run other processes that are restricted to the efficiency cores. This is my hypothesis anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
