OS Neutral What is Skyrim Legendary Edition really?

I have the original from like launch and I checked it and it has the "Legendary" Difficulty. What's the difference between this version and the Legendary Edition, besides the fact that you get 3 expansions.

What really does the Legendary Edition offer vs. buying the original+expansions? Is this some type of marketing gimmick?

Nothing, the legendary just has all the DLC bundled.
