WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG to have my iPod mini's battery replaced?

i initiated the repair on Feb 2, they received it on the 7th, and on the 8th they updated the status page to be "product pending replacement".

first of all, what does that mean.
and second of all, why is it taking that long?

how long did you have to wait (assuming that you got your ipod battery replaced)

I would expect it back fairly soon. I believe that if the repair takes over 30 days then you get something special.. they'll send you a nice trinket or something. That is if you call apple and act upset and angered. RARR is the word.

trinket?

i think i will call tomorrow and rant to the poor operator. i mean, it should not take THIS long. and i know they're definately not backed up with LOADS of ipods just waiting for their batteries to be replaced.

but i bought a slvr with itunes. i want to ask them to just give me back the iPod and refund my 90 bucks. i dont even really need it anymore.

oh well. i'll call tomorrow.

*rawr*

so anyone else that has sent in their ipod to have the battery replaced? wait times?

I sent mine in and it only took a few days, nowhere near as long as yours is taking. Although, I guess with mine they sent me a refurb not a new battery, so maybe that makes a big difference.

How do u know if the battery is shot down enough to be replaced? I know mine is alot worse than when i got it, but idk if its that bad yet..and its still under the one year apple warrenty i belive!

Mine wasn't under warrenty. So I had to pay for it.

I knew it was time to get it replaced because whenver I would charge it, it would
a) take 10+ hours to fully charge, and
b) when it said it was fully charge it would only hold
i) an hour charge
ii) no charge at all.

i wished they would send me a refurb but
a) my mini was gold (so i dont think they'll have any of those around),
b) mini is discontinued :(

i am going to call them tomorrow to see what is going on. cause this is just ridiculous.
