what is taking up my hard drive

I am not sure what is taking up the space on my hard drive. How much is being used right out of the box? I am looking at my movies i have on here, and music and photos and such and i dont know where the Gigs are going to. i seem to have almost twenty that i can not account for. Do i have duplicate copies somewhere of files or something? I feel kinda like an idiot, i am sure there is an easy place to find all this. help anyone?

Well you lose alot of it just to formating. My 250 GB drive is actually only 233Gb on top of the you have all the system files, applications, documents etc etc.
