Mostly full of crap apps.
There are some good apps, but the majority are just there.
It will get better in time.

Full of crap, and apps that kill time. There are a lot of pretty good games in it. There are some pretty useful apps as well. But it's by far better than any other mobile app store before (uhm handango).

Sorry, but horrible poll. Options 3-4 are pretty much the same, and there's no clear-cut middle ground between love it and hate it.

I would have chosen something like "Love it, but aren't interested in every app there".

Without a doubt, with the introduction of third party apps the iPhone became a million times for valuable, useful, etc .... many apps are simply amazing (Shazam, Google Earth, etc.) and indeed there so many KRAPPS ... but that's why we were "born" ... getting lemons and making lemonade ... might as well expose all these lame/fail apps and get a good laugh ... ever hear of Amulet? Total KRAPPS, but actually hysterical ... anyways, if it wasn't for the App Store, I know I would not enjoy my iPhone as much.

Of course there's a lot of crap in the beginning... but as time has gone on, we're already starting to see the maturity of the AppStore take place. I think there's many possibilities out there in the future.

I expected to answer differently, I didn't know it was this type of question. Anyways, I answered #2. But that being said, I don't really use the app store much except to see what's on top of the list.

I use pocketgamer and appvee to get reviews on the higher profile apps that I'm more likely to be interested in. That's also how I find out what's going on.
I use appshopper from my computer to see what's new, updated, price changes, etc.. And on my touch, I use appsniper. I only go to the app store to actually buy the app and read reviews.

What is the App Store to me? Well, I'm a consumer but also a developer.

So I look at it as "a great equalizer", wherein an individual or small business can develop, contribute and easily distribute an app and sell more than a shrinkwrap-based software developer!

See I would vote, but I don't like #2. Yeah there is a bunch of worthless crap on there, but at the same time I am not addicted to it. I might check it once every two weeks to see whats on there.

Other then that, I check here to see what the rave is or what friends have and try theirs first.

So my pick would be"

Bunch of worthless crap, but I go there to get what app I want.
