$59.99/month: 50 MB Data Global Add-On for 30 days
OR

cruise ship's wifi: $.65 a minute or a package plan; $28.00 for 60 minutes
$38.00 for 90 minutes

( i need to go to some parts of the ship to get wifi)

Im listing only those because thats my money limit.... Im gonna use it for internet web surfing like Facebook or Macrumors (ofcourse :D ) and Itunes or app stores....im going in 6 months so if the new ipad comes out b4 that ill get that and if it has a webcam ill use oovoo (video chat) so what should i use... remember if i get the 2nd gen ill use the video chat.... so whats best for me????:confused::confused:

EDIT: should i use it by time (wifi on boat) or should i go by MB size (3g)

Honestly, wait until you pull into any port and use the many internet kiosks offered close to the ship.

Service runs usually $3. for 30 minutes, give or take. Much cheaper than the wifi on board the cruise liner.

If you are willing to pay 200-300 dollars for it, then I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

1. Surely you won't get phone signal on a cruise?unless they have signal masts on the boat, even then, I don't imagine mobile Internet will be too great.

2. Wouldn't your money be better spent on the actual holiday? Spend $3 on a kiosk every few days to go on Facebook.

true... and is there a way to jail break ur ipad to get free wifi lol

Why not take a vacation and not worry about checking the Internet? If money's tight use it for other things and just use the iPad for things which don't need Internet.

I did that on my recent trip and it was AWESOME to be disconnected from the world for a week. I will always do that from no on - no phone, no email, no SMS and no Internet. Being disconnected in this day and age is amazing.

Let me actually answer the question... you want minutes not MB. You can torch thru 50mb fairly quickly and, as noted, the ship won't likely get great cell service. Your best bet is to connect, download what you need, then TURN DATA OFF. Reply to your emails, leave them in your outbox and repeat the process later.

I can't stress enough that you must turn your machine to airplane mode when not directly using the connection.

ash =o)

but isnt there a way to jailbreak so i can connect to the ship for free? :D

Now 3G bad! This fee or high! We still cannot enjoy to enjoy! This is really bad! We at home with a wireless router or make a very good! So, how do we play can be 1!

Look up the prepaid carrier data plans for mx, then cut the sim card down to match the microsim
