If you have NO programming experience whatsoever, I don't suggest jumping into -C. Try some simpler object oriented languages, like C, Java, php, and javascript.

I'd recommend reading "Programming in Objective-C 2.0" by Kochan first and then "Beginning iPhone 3 Development" by Mark&LaMarche.

I highly recommend Sams Teach Yourself iPhone Application Development in 24 hours. Very clear and easy to follow. I've been programming the iPhone for the last 8 mos. This helped me get unstuck.

Beginning iPhone Development is great too.
