MP 1,1-5,1 What is the best video card for the Mac Pro 3,1?

Hi all,
Is it just me or is the best video card for the Mac Pro 3,1 the "Geforce GTX 970"?. I am just wondering because I got this desktop for free and I want to make the most of it. Thanks in advance!.

depends on what you want to do with it, if you are fine with 10.13 and windows then sure its probably fine for free.
AMD RX580 or better is generally what many are switching to.

I did some heavy research and the GTX 680 4GB is the best video card to go with. I found the thread here:

Just for anyone looking into this. I have decided to sell my machine to save for a Mac Mini, i'm not geeky enough for this DIY project lol.
