I am looking for a simple easy to use video converter to convert VOB AVI etc... files to be compatible with iTunes and my AppleTV.

I was recommended "AppleTV video converter for Mac", but was wondering if anyone has a better suggestion.

Sorry if this has been answered already...

Many thanks.

I Would Say VisualHub*Not Free* but After Using HandBrake *Free* All Of Yesterday And Today I'm Going To Say HandBrake 0.9.1 The New One Keeps Crashing For Me.

I Have Noticed That HandBrake Wouldn't Encode My Avi's That I Had Downloaded From The Internet.

I'd go with Handbrake. I use 0.9.2 and it works fine for me at least, and it is quicker than 0.9.1 which is nice.

You Find 0.9.2 Quicker Than 0.9.1 I Don't What Spec's Do You Have, I have MacBook C2D 2.16 GHz, 1GB Ram.

Keep in mind that VisualHub is pretty much anything to any other format while Handbrake is DVD to MPEG-4/h.264.

I don't understand what the confusion is when they're two entirely different programs for different situations. I think VisualHub is well worth the money.

It has never claimed to be an AVI-converter... only DVD/some other MPEG2 sources.

As for .9.2 crashing, I haven't really had too many problems with it... are you using 10.4, or trying to encode to xvid (which is broken)?

Handbrake's not meant for that. It's meant for converting DVD and DVD-like files (as the "About HandBrake" section says).

I Normally Do .Vob's And Didn't Know It Didn't Do Avi's. No Worries As I Have VisualHub But Just Slightly Slow After The First Time I Used It Depresses Me:(

OP Get Both One's Free And One's $30 So It's A Win Win:D
