Okay so I've looked around about this and maybe I'll get a straight answer here. Okay so first, I bought the 3G on day one so now I have this old iPhone sitting around. I'm curious how I get it so I can sell it and it won't still be tied to my phone number. Yes, I've asked AT&T and Apple this and I was getting mixed answers, I'm sure someone in this forum has done this and can give me a straight answer.

Second, what is the best way after I do step one to then unlock it so I can sell it? The Pwnage tool?

Any help would be appreciated..I don't need the "n00b" comments, I'm well aware.

Try ziphone if you wish to unlock it (www.ziphone.org)

P.S.: Anybody who calls you a noob is an idiot! I believe this is what the forums are for!

To unlock the 2.0 firmware you need to use the pwnage tool(or winpwn)

If you are using 1.1.4, ziphone will float your boat, 2.0 has some issues to touch about unlocking

I'd personally avoid Ziphone like a plague and use iLiberty+ or even the first pwnage tool instead
