I'm on a new Mac Pro. I'm trying to media manage and copy/paste files, and am constantly required to type my password. Installing plugins yields an endless barrage of granting permissions, that don't seem to go away after the first time.

The default notifications are unbelievable and I can't imagine most people not being annoyed by them. Luckily, these are relatively easy to turn off.

And then having to tell security all the time that its ok to install a plugin or program. Not in a pop up window , but In system preferences, of all places .

Does anyone at Apple use Catalina ???

I understand security is important. But so far the actual usability of this OS is reminding me of Windows Vista, and that aint a good thing.

it's not the OS, it's your experience with the OS.

are you constantly installing? and 'plugins'... is this for, for example, final cut pro or? logic?

what happened when you called apple? try that; new mac, free support. but, as far as installs go; yes, there is security. for a reason.

hopefully, installing software is a small part of your experience, and using that software is the main part.

anyway, explain more here, or, again... call apple.

As others have said once you install all your stuff and allowed the apps you use the stuff they need the security warnings go away. Just be warned some apps may only prompt for what they need when you use it (like recording the screen for painting apps) so you may not see all the warnings until you use your software for a bit.
