I just ordered myself a new top-end 24 inch iMac :)D), but the hutch of my desk is too small, so I plan on buying a new desk as well (something affordable under $150).

I've currently been using a 15 inch powerbookg4 on a 24 inch wide (depth) desk, and I'm trying to imagine how my desk could handle a 24 inch iMac if it didn't have this silly built-in hutch... but it's a bit hard to imagine such a comparison.

If any of you would take sixty seconds of your life to measure the depth/width of your desk and tell me if it's perfect, or whether you wish it could be smaller/larger, I'd greatly appreciate it!

like, is 24 inches enough room, or will the monitor be too close? is 28 too close? certainly 32 can't be? let me know! <3

My current desk is 32" deep and I have plenty of room with my 24" iMac. I have about 1.5 ft between the iMac and the edge of the desk (toward me) and the Mac stand (angled part) starts (as in the vertex is) about 6" from the back of the desk.

Sounds like you have plenty of room with a 28" desk.

I would love to hear some more feedback! I fear that the 22 inch desk in the other room won't be wide enough. I hate keyboard drawers.
