What is the difference between a 290x and 390x?Arrgh. wrong header topic.

Thank you for the information. I'm in the midst of getting a 27" iMac. Either late 2014 or late 2015.

It seems late 2014 seems like a better deal with slight edge in GPU too.

Sure about that? If you look closely, you might notice that there is no iMac with the 390x, only one with the 390. If your choice is between a 2014 iMac with a Radeon 290 and a 2015 model with the 390, the latter is (slightly) more performant. If it's between an 2014 iMac with a 290x and a 2015 version with just the 390, you are indeed correct.
 
it s that I m looking to buy a new computer and in the refurbished store I see all the options.. 290x, 390,AMD,Nvidea etc. Even refurbished they are pricy and I want to get the best model I can afford.I am even looking at Windows as well.While I'd prefer an iMac atm the Windows machines.. are looking tempting.
