I have 1.1.1 visited jailbreakme.com and ran the installer. My first time to SSH into the iPhone and noticed that there is this very large root.zip file in the var root folder. (my iPod touch didn't have this file) question is what is it doing there and what is it exactly. Is it necessary?
Thanks in advance.

Its what is downloaded when you visit jailbreakme.com, inside are all the things that are copied to the filesystem root structure to make the jailbreak work.

I don't think its necessary once the phone is jailbroken

So I can delete the root.zip and youtube.zip then? Can anyone confirm this?
