I'm running a 2009 Mac Pro... I've tried a few different versions of Adobe Flash... I've had some bad luck and some good luck... Right now I'm running version Shockwave Flash 10.2 d161... It seems to be doing a good job. My question is this... When I go to the Adobe website, it doesn't explain what version is the latest... Then there is Beta and non-Beta... How can I find the latest version to my version?

Also, why is it that you have to continually check Adobe's website for updates... Why don't they get pushed out? Or at least notify you of an update?

Thanks!

The latest released version of Flash player is 10.1. Specifically, I'm running 10.1.102.64 and it seems to be the latest build.

You can download the latest version here:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

I believe that that is the one I tried before my Beta version... It wasn't good. My system would lag, it would stutter, and one video would eat up my CPU... With the Beta I haven't had that problem... Where can I get the latest Beta version?

This has been a complaint about Flash for a long time. I suspect that they never put in an updater because Apple included Flash in the OS and sometimes updated Flash in their OS updates. This is no longer the case as of last month, and I suspect there will be an updater in the near future.

Alright, Adobe just released the final version of its latest version... I'm running a Mac Pro under 64-bit... It shows me running 10,2,161,22. The latest version according to Adobe's website is 10.2.152.33. Who has the latest one?

Has anyone tried the latest one? How does it work?

I guess my real question is what is the difference between 161 and 152? Am I running a beta then?

You would have to read the release notes to find out what is different. Looks like you are running a beta of the 10.2 branch (I am guessing). Why for one? Just get the most recent stable release and be done with it unless you are testing code. You don't get GPU acceleration because you have ATI graphics and 64-bit operation is a moot point right now so stick with the stable's.

For those who care about flash...

The next update which I have is beta 10.3, of which I even hacked and got 10.2 and 10.3 working on my PowerBook G4.. I am all for HTML5 as this is the new replacement for Adobe's pitiful program.
