What is the max length of TB3 cable for eGPU?

Hi, I am looking for a TB3 table to connect between eGPU and a Windows laptop computer. The longer the better but without affecting the performance. What is the recommended length in this case? Which brand do you recommend?

There are active, passive, 60W/100W, usbc 3.1/usb3/usb2 compatible/incompatible cables.

It is a quite mess the whole TB3/usbc thing. The cable choice depends on what you need - there are no such a tb3 40gb cable that works with everything.
