Hi,

I'm trying to remember the name of a game i used to play when i was younger. I think it was about 16 years ago. I remember it being the most awesome game i experienced in that time, the way the storyline was set up.

- I think it was in French although you could play the game pretty well without understanding what was said. Now i think of it, i think that's how you went from one scene to the next. Between tasks/scene's, there was something going on, introducing you to what was about to happen next.

- I remember some scenes playing in some sort of futuristic ruinlike structures covered with jungle.

- It was more or less 2 dimensional. You walked from left to right, scrolling thru the scene.

- Your gun could warp some sort of forceshield which protected you from shots from the enemies, while being able to shoot them. Shift or spacebar was shooting/warping.

- The enemies where aliens, and... i tried to draw them for your convience :D On the left is a forcefield

Who remembers this game?

Much appriciated, this has been bugging me for years :)

Wow! thank you so much! It is indeed 'Another World'. :)

I have searched for it now and then, but without any luck. I guess i used to play it in French and therefore couldn't have known the English name for it. (if it makes sense, my memory is gray on this.)

The reason this came up was that thread about putting windows 3.1 on an Iphone4. The first thing that came to my mind is that i would love to have Another World on it.

To my memory, it was the first game i played that had enemies with artificial intelligence and a storyline. (we weren't allowed to play games on my dad's PC often so i missed out on some populair stuff)

And i just found out that i didn't had to play it in french. I could have actually understood what was going on.

Thanks again, i'm going to try to get it somewhere.

***dang, my drawing really sucks
