it doesn't seem to have anything that the express doesn't. so why is it still sold? am i missing something?
 
Ethernet output for a wired LAN, more simultaneous wireless users, external antenna, dialup

Yeah, it allows for fifty as opposed to the Express' ten. The Extreme is therefore a much better option for corporate and educational institutions (and large families). :)
 
Iffin' you need that LAN port, which some of us do, it's the better option even if you're not planning on having 50 people connect to it. The option to pop an external antenna on is nice, too.
 
The Airport Express also has a LAN port, of course. Otherwise it would only serve as a repeater (if it can repeat, I don't know).
 
It can be configured that way, but if you use it as a WAN port, you have no wired LAN access.
