Hey, I was wondering whats the typical upstream in MB/s in an Apple Retail Store in 2020?
Do you guys have any data on that or is there some page to look it up. I always hear upload speeds are so fast in an Apple store. Not living in the US and where I am located now there is no Apple Retail store so I cannot test it myself.
Cheers
This could easily be crowd-sourced - let people run some simple test like
https://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ at their local Apple store and post the results. It could be fun.
From home, I get
from that website.
And it would be better for everyone to use the same tool - some report in Bytes per second, some in bits per second, some in binary notation, some in decimal notation. Some report the network traffic (which includes network overhead that is often around 10%), and others report the payload traffic without the overhead.
Also, some ISPs allow brief "turbo" modes where speeds much higher than the rated bandwidth can happen for brief periods before throttling back to what you paid for.
Also note that using your own device on the "guest" network might get far lower numbers than running on a display system - the guest network could be throttled. Apple wants you to see how much faster the new systems on display are than the one you have.
