This has been bothering me since I first got my iPhone 3G but kept forgetting to do a screen capture and post. I wasn't sure the best way of searching for this (is it an icon? indicator?) so I apologize if this has been discussed.

Anyway, what is the little icon/indicator next to the AT&T logo? Normally it's a 3G or E but this is a little circle/dot. The phone still works while this shows so I'm completely confused what it represents.

On a side note, I've been having a lot of dropped calls lately while on 3G in Chicago. Has anyone else been experiencing more dropped calls than usual or is it just me?

I live in Chicago as well, I get this logo sometimes, mostly when Im in my house.

I've also noticed that service has gone down, im getting dropped calls, and for a while i was getting horrible service, i switched my SIM at ATT, (free) and it solved some of the problems.
