It’s feature of Desktop when hiding icons and application windows.
Thank you, I changed the Dock size, didn't change much in system settings. I don't think I see it anymore, but I don't understand what caused it and what I clicked to stop it, if it is stopped. Slow guy here.

Its back again: Ok, if I have two small windows open on the desktop, then I click ON the desktop, the two windows HIDE+the shadow on the finder window appears. Why have this shadow? What's the significance? How did I turn it on in the first place. If I click again on the desktop, the windows both slide back visible, and the shadow goes away. What is the huge window shadow suppose to be telling me?

Click the Click wallpaper to reveal desktop pop-up menu, then choose an option:

  • Always: Clicking the wallpaper moves all windows out of the way to show your desktop items and widgets.
  • Only in Stage Manager: When Stage Manager is turned on, clicking the wallpaper moves all windows out of the way to show your desktop items and widgets.
