I was JUST about to buy a 2.0 macbook from amazon, since they have the best overall price, but now they show "ships in 1-2 weeks"

And many other companies, other than the apple.com website, are showing the same.

Maybe there IS a revision coming, or maybe they are just selling like hot cakes, they cannot keep them in stock?

Apple gives its own stores priority over other stores.

Same thing happened with iPods Christmas '05.

Everywhere was sold out but apple.com (and maybe apple stores).

People were paying more for used iPods on eBay then new ones usually went for. The whole time apple.com had new ones in stock.

Mind boggling what some people do

It could just be they are out of stock or that there is an update coming and apple.com has a lot of left over stock while everyone else is selling out...

Isn’t that illegal in Europe? I have an inkling that it is covered in fair trade legislation, someone else might be able to elaborate. I could be 100% wrong – Anyone studied this?

to be fair

to be fair, a few weeks ago apple too was showing 1-2 weeks,
so, it could just be a supply to channel issue, like one that fixes the yellow stains issue,
or improves the logic board?

It is very "unlike" Apple to break laws isn't it?
