Hello everyone!

First and foremost, I had my iPad Air 2 since 2014. It worked as a Swiss-made watch. Until last week. Then, when I started it, I saw this:

The colors are all mashed up, everything is weird. You can see that already when it starts up that something is wrong, the black isn't black and all colors later on are twisted.

What can I do? Is it done? Is it worth it to send it to be repaired (third party)? Everything else works. I have btw iPad Pro 2021-version so I will survive, but still. It's kind of annoying that my faithful iPad Air 2 looks like this.

ANY help will be appreciated! Thank You!

Also, the screen isn't cracked. I will show therefore one more picture.

Looks like a hardware defect to me. You can of course try to restore it back to factory conditions and see if the issue disappears, but I doubt it from the images you presented.

A repair or replacement would be the logical next step.

I talked with one of my friends here in Sweden. It seems there is an cable that is linked with the display (goes from the charing jacket and up). And that cable is damaged. So luckily, I don't need to replace entire display - just that cable.

Hey if it’s just that and you can get a spare part, congrats. Seeing the dock at the bottom and having the distortion more center screen looked more like a display issue to my untrained eyes tbh.

Do keep us posted how you managed to repair it, best success!

I will. I'll call for this one 3rd party fixer-guy tomorrow and bring my iPad to him so he can explain exactly what it is and how he can fix it.

How would the cable get damaged if the iPad has never been opened? Looks like a display issue to me, either the panel itself or the display driver..

It appears to be caused by a bad contact -

I wouldn't recommend bending or hitting your iPad, but if it was an old iPad, that was otherwise uneconomical to repair, I might try it on the basis that it's already broken.
