I got one of the original batches of iPads made, so mine has been in use for over five months. Today I happened to be working from home using a work laptop, but I kept my iPad at my side to check for email and to take breaks with. I took many breaks . . . :)

Anyway, I noticed that it's been on and in almost continual use for 10 hours and I still have 4% battery life. That's with it on the entire time (not ever in sleep mode). I checked email, web surfed, watched little videos, played games. I used this thing all day long, and I'm getting more than 10 hours of continual battery life with brightness set to 65%. With a 5-month old battery. And I read books on it every evening, so it really does get used every single day of those five months.

Is this typical? How's your iPad battery after months of use?

Mine is the same as it was when I started four months ago--about 10 hours of use on wifi (no streaming or intensive gaming) gets me down to about 20% of battery life remaining. I have no complaints.

Draining about 9-10% about an hour... which is just about what I had when I got it and adds up to 10 hours.

On a heavy usage day my battery lastscas long as 13 hours. Today I used it moderately and I started using it at 7:00am and it's currently 10:26 and it's at 70% :). love it.

I was actually thinking today that my battery is not lasting as long as it did when I got it. But then I realized it's just because i'm using it more each day, and using more intensive apps like games. — I think a lot of people could confuse that as the battery losing capacity.

Light use(emails, morning browsing, USA Today, Twitter App) About 15 hours using it off and on all day, with at least 40% remaining when I plug it up.

Buisness use, I use it for my photography, I dump all my raw+jpegs on it and dropbox the keepers,Check emails, use Square to ring people up, ect. Usually lasts well into the next day.

Heavy use(aka my two year old and myself) about 8-10 hours. That's with a heavy amount of learning games, TV Shows, Movies, Email, games, web browsing, ect...

No real drop off yet, but man, I love the freaking iPad!

Yeah, this is the device you no longer think about charging. Every so often you plug it in.

fantastic and mine is jailbroken with a TON of stuff installed. I forget to touch it for 2-3 days and it still has like 90% battery life haha. I wish the iphone had standby power like that. however Im always touching the iphone so I probably wouldnt know if it did.

First device I've ever had where battery life is just a non issue (and I've been around tech for 30+ yrs).

Always 10+ hrs
