I currently have:
- magic keyboard
- pencil pro
- logitech combo touch

With either of the keyboard setups I find it hard to transition between typing on a keyboard and drawing with pencil, but for different reasons.
If I am sitting on a lunge chair or the couch, I like to hold the ipad with one hand and draw with the other, but I can't do that when the keyboards are attached. I find myself constantly attaching and detaching the keyboard with either case, which makes for an inconvenient workflow. An example is when I am annotating a pdf - I use the pencil to highlight and draw arrows and things, but occasionally I want to add a longer comment and typing on keyboard is better. I wonder how others do this, what is your workflow and what accesories do you use?

For your use case, maybe a separate case and keyboard, rather than an integrated unit, may be better - you don't have to attach & detach, rather just pick the iPad up for drawing and set it back down for use with the keyboard.

With my Magic keyboard, I typically just detach my iPad from the keyboard before annotating on the document. If I need something to rest my iPad on, I will close the keyboard and then place my iPad on the top.

For you, can’t you simply push your iPad until it’s reclining at a more comfortable angle for writing? The Logitech combo touch case comes with a kickstand, right?

@venpopov I guess I don't understand. I have the Logitech Combo Touch, which was made for this very issue. The keyboard easily detaches, leaving you with just the iPad in a case with a built in kickstand. When done drawing, reattach keyboard, and Bada Bing....you're good to go. It's all magnetic and couldn't be any more simple or convenient.

+1. And sometimes I use the iPad naked after detached it from the MK.
