Remember the first Motorola brick? Back in the good ol days a cell phone was still a device to make calls with. Now we have arrived in the age of the smart phone with Apples piece de résistance as one of the pinnacles. Ill tell you what I want from such a device. Assuming the necessary infrastructure is well in place. HSPDA network with nation wide coverage for instance. (We are almost there).
Making calls. Duh. Yes, I want to make clear phone calls everywhere. That means a powerful antenna and top-notch circuitry.
Making photographs? No. My Nokia has a camera but I never use it. Leave it out and spend the money on something else.
Exterior. Scratch proof and sturdy. No plastic or paint jobs that wear away please.
Clever user interface. Yes, the iPhone is the leader of the pack here.
Multi media player.
Large memory, preferably user upgradeable. Why Apple didnt include a card slot is beyond me.
Multi sync capabilities. Im a corporate Lotus Notes user and it would be very neat to be able to sync right out of the box. Now Im struggling with a program that doesnt work 100% all the times.
A good onscreen keyboard.
A good multi protocol e-mail client.
A good web browser.
Thats all folks.
