The above post is a perfect example of why you should do your own research specific to your own needs. There's nothing wrong with alkalifly's list, but the only tweak I use from that list is iFile.

You're bound to get many responses, many of which won't be relevant to your needs.

Yeah, I only use two from that list. Of course, I'm on iOS 6 so it's a bit different, but I agree with the assessment here.

One of the basic tweaks most people install is Activator. That's probably a good introduction to what you can do with jailbreaking.

I second f.lux, but if you're not the kind of person that's affected by harsh blue light from your iPhone screen at night or in dark places it may not be relevant to you.

Do you run 7.1.x? Just saw your recommendation for SBProfiles (which is a must have on my phone). Couldn't yet find a confirmation whether SBProfiles works (or not) on 7.1.2. I'm still on 7.0.6 but ready to update to 7.1.2 as soon as I know SBProfiles will work.

So far so good with SBProfiles on 7.1.2 :)

If you take a ton of pics then you might want to get Photo Info.

Here is an essential list of tweaks I install on every iPhone I jailbreak:
Activator
BatteryLife
CCToggles
f.lux
icleaner Pro
ifile
mikoto
Network List
NO PLS RECOVERY
NoAnnoyance
OpenSSH
ShowCase
SwipeSelection
Untrusted Hosts Blocker
Webscrollian
WiFi Booster

All of these are free and help to keep the phone running as it should or simplifies issues it may have. To each their own, but the 20 some odd iPhones I've jailbroken all have these installed on them.

There’s a lot of good suggestions here. I have over 120 tweaks just on the “User” tab (and I'm on iOS 6.1.2) so I won’t give my whole list. Instead I'll just mention a few of my favorites that I didn’t see already posted:

FakeClockUp speeds up UI animations. I use 1.6× on mine.

SlideCut lets you copy, paste, select, undo and more just using the keyboard. It's like command-key shortcuts on a Mac, by sliding from the spacebar to a letter (works great alongside SwipeSelection, just start your SlideCut swipes moving upward rather than sideways).

Platinum lets you autocomplete search terms in Safari without commencing the search, so you can keep typing more.

NetworkList shows your saved wifi network names and passwords in Settings.

Brightness Icons provides homescreen icons to adjust the backlight. I put mine in the Dock so they’re always in easy reach. Works great with Dimmer.

BrightVol lets you set an Activator action to make your volume buttons adjust the brightness, and back again. Works great with Dimmer.

FullImage lets you zoom in further on photos.

SpringFlash lets you set an Activator action to toggle the torch (flash light). I use a hardware button.

FYI, this was mentioned a couple posts up, but just in case you didn't see it, WebScrollian has been replaced by Fascy. Just an FYI.

I use the one from Tateu's repo... Facsy for me is not as smooth as Tateu's modified version.

Ah ok makes sense. I was using r_plus's modified version since January until he released Fascy. At that point, I figured I should just start using the new one.

I'll check out Tateu's version to see if I like it better. Thanks.

No problem... Please come back and tell me which one you like.
