What would the best mac laptop around $1400/1600 for a student like me who wants alot of battery life. And would sacrifice some power?

I had a laptop but it only gave me 1hr 30min or so, and that wasnt enough. What are the macs like? Its basically just to type on. Get some work done, browse the internet, etc.

wait to see if apple releases the new intel ibooks (macbooks) on april 1. If they do, get one of those if you can wait. If not, get a 12" powerbook or 12" ibooks with some other things added on (14" is NOT worth it/total ripoff). You'll love macs. trust me.

A 12" iBook (or the Intel equivalent) sounds like the perfect laptop for you.

If you can wait, wait and get the Intel iBook which hopefully will be released in April. If you can't wait, the current G4 iBooks are very nice aswell. Get the 12-inch and then just upgrade it for your needs.

Oh I suppose I should say I ment in Canadian funds, allthough the difference between that and American seems to get closer daily:confused:

I have no problem with waiting, but I guess the idea would be. Am I going to get a better machine/battery life? I personally am not a fan of the current pentium4 line of processors, and I guess there contract with mac is the first wave of there newer processors, so in that sense, a pentium"5" and I will certainly give them a shot.

I am an AMD guy, as you can tell by the more than powerfull how computer I own below.:D :D
