My younger cousin is selling magazines for his school, so I thought I would chip in and help out by subscribing to a magazine. Now the question is, what is the ideal/best Mac magazine out there? MacWorld? That's really the only one I've seen on news stands.

I read Macworld and MacAddict...but they are almost the same magazine it seems with a lot of the same articles. I got my subs the same way....those darn juniors and their prom decorations that cost a lot.

I personally prefer MacAddict...they are smaller and have a more "Mac-Like" atmosphere.

funky, i'm genna look for mac mags next time i'm in town :D In my parents shpe there are PC Mags... what FILTH! honestly... :D ;)

I have had both MacWorld and MacAddict subscriptions, and I would recommend MacAddict. Better content, and like MacFan25863 said, they have a more "Mac-like" atmosphere.

Macworld has lots of little cool things you can do to os x, but i have never read macaddict.

Score another point for MacAddict. I have had trial subscriptions for Macworld, MacAddict and macHOME magazines, and MacAddict is in my opinion the best by far. I also highly recommend going for their mag+cd subscription for the most complete subscription package.

Being due to switch soon, Ive been buying every Mac magazine on the shelves. And man, you Americans have it bad lol. The quality of UK Mac magazines is much higher than their American counterparts. While I like the Macworld you have over there, iCreate, MacUser and Macworld UK are all far superior magazines. If you get the chance to subscribe to any of them I would definitely recommend it.

As a Texan you are obliged to, eh? ;)

I will recomend iCreate, a great magazin for novices and pros alike.
You also get a back issue on every CD that comes with the mag, and it has hardly any ads in it

iCreate is great.. to bad about those insane price jumps that happen as soon as the magazines cross the border.

MacHome is great. I prefer that one.

I would also agree that the UK magazines are wonderful. I can get those at both Borders and Barnes and Noble. However, the subscription price for the US is a small fortune. I typically read through them at the bookstore and look at the CDs to see if I need anything on them.

I started taking Macworld when I got 6 months free (or was it a year at that time?) when I registered my first iBook, and have been benefitting from it greatly ever sense.

MacAddict is pretty good. Macworld UK and iCreate are both much, much, much better. Better written articles, better overall quality, better everything. I've been subscribing to MacAddict for years, but the last few months I've been picking up European magazine imports (Macworld UK, iCreate) from Chapters. MacAddict looks like a 10 year TV Guide compared to the UK magazines.

If you like MacAddict, you'll love iCreate because its not a super serious magazine. Macworld UK has great articles, it's just not as colourful and 'fun' as iCreate.
