So the new ones look awesome, i need i7 16gb ram etc. With student discount (music production), for the new 15inch one it'll be about £2100. The 2015 MacBook however has had its price bumped up to £1899!!! I need one very soon if I'm honest.. so I'm torn between what to get. Could someone give me some advice? Thanks so much. Also 15 inch is preferable as I'll be staring at the screen a lot so I don't want to damage my eye sight. Thanks

Why not get a used last gen 15"?

Or another way to look at this, you'll be using this machine for at least 3yrs.

My previous MBP lasted me 7years. My current one is from Late 2013, and showing no sign of slowing down, and I'm barely using 60% of its power.

Was thinking that just trying to work out the current old spec model they are selling was that the previous top end model?
