I started off using ME when it first came out. At that time I used an email address that I like to use. Well as many of you know it was horrible at launch. I decided to try it again using a trial membership again and have decided to buy it but I want to use my original ME account, which is still there I just need to activate it.

Right now I have all of my contacts, email, bookmarks, notes and ical synced with my MBP. In what manner should I sync everything so that I don't loose anything?

You should be able to activate your old account again. I know it's marked as expired, but I do believe you can re-activate it. However you will need to set your sync preferences to override the data on MobileMe, and not your computer.

I think I understood your question correctly.

After you reactivate your account with a credit card or an activation code, sign out of your current MobileMe account in System Preferences, sign in with the reactivated account. Enable syncing, select the same options, but before syncing, click on the Advanced button in the lower right, then the Reset Sync Data button in the lower left of the drop-down, then select the option to replace information on the cloud with what's on the computer. This will push all your selected options from the computer to the reactivated account.
