Despite all signs to the contrary, I want to believe Apple has plans for audio that go beyond, "Well just use wireless headphones!".
So the rumor is the new iPads may ditch the lightning port for USB-C. Might they have something in mind that would let you plug headphones directly into that port? And potentially get better sound as its got more bandwidth?
Or there is a fancy external DAC the Dragonfly. I don't have it but it's a USB driven device. Might you be able to plug this directly into a USB-C port in an iDevice?
