I am now using an ios phone which is an iPhone. I guess iPhone is more reliable in terms of speed and the performance. The quickly reaction of iPhone makes me more amazed and most of the apps are working properly compared to other phones I know.

What are your suggestions based on your experiences with your mobile phone?

This should be a fun thread...

Caseydavdison, I will always recommend iPhones or Google Pixels for their usability and versatility.

I'm nonchalant in regards to phone hardware. Hail, I'm currently using a 3 year, BLU phone (think Kia car equivalent of smartphones), before that I was using a Galaxy S2.o_O As long as I can get a custom ROM on it, it's all good.
I like bare bones ROMs that doesn't tax the hardware (ie decent performance and battery life). The new Android phones are sporting 6000mA batteries now, which is pretty much the minimum to last you a day.
I hate bloated ROMs. Why did my BLU require 30 difference services running in the background before I nuked the system and installed a custom ROM? Here's a hint: what happens on you phone doesn't stay on you phone. Custom ROM fixes that.
My wife wants a new iPhone, so I'm gonna inherit her 7 Plus. No custom ROMs, but at least I won't have to worry about privacy.

I go back and forth between 11 pro Max and Pixel 4XL and S20ULTRA

But I'm not sure I would buy another iPhone without AOD

Love that my Android phones can display this

I first had a Samsung Galaxy S II, like Mousse. Great phone, lasted me 2 years on stock then 2 years on other ROMs (mainly Slim). I then had a Nexus 6p. Great phone, rooted it in the first week and lived mainly on LineageOS afterwards. The battery life was great in reviews and great in the beginning, but after 3 years it started acting up. Power off at 35% and such. No fun. I inherited my wife's iPhone 7 when she went minimal, but as you can read elsewhere, I really started missing Android. I used the iPhone for half a year, it's not like I didn't try.

So I just bought myself a Samsung Galaxy S10+ at a great discount (€660) and I'm eagerly waiting for a confirmation mail that I can pick it up. It's the Exynos version so it remains to be seen if I root it on day 1 or day 2 ?. Main thing I'm looking forward to is a home screen that can do more than show a row of icons, and my Messagease keyboard to work well again (always crashes on iOS).

OP reading between the lines of your post my advice is to enjoy

At times I wish I was like my wife she does not care how her car or phone or laptop works etc, she simply enjoys how she uses it and technicalities are irrelevant

Unless you have an absolute thirst to be sated by digging in deeper spend your time using and enjoying your device and just update every few years to stay current and not miss out on some new functionality

You will not go wrong with any reasonably new premium device

Galaxy S20+ is new to my collection, compared it the last three days to my iPhone 11 pro and pixel 4 XL. It's of course a great phone but the user experience with the other two is simply better, I am more a stock android guy.

I’d be surprised if the op ever posts in here again. And if he’s happy with his iPhone, no idea what creating a thread in the alternative section will achieve.....

I'm using and iPhone 11 pro on my personal line, and my work line I'm rotating between a Galaxy S10e, Galaxy Note 10, and currently using a Pixel 4. Also have an Essential Phone as backup and have a RAZR on pre order. As you can tell, I prefer "smaller" phones.
