Seeing as the Pro model Airpods are not replacing the prior model, what do we think Apple will do with the version 2 Airpods in future, as in what feature set can they add to them that won’t make them appear to step in Pro territory?

& can we see Apple including the base model Airpods in the box with (distant) future iPhones??

Honestly, what they should do is bring the price down gradually and then eventually start bundling with iPhone. They won't do it, but that makes the most sense to em.

Can Apple even make enough AirPods to bundle them with every iPhone? This just represents a lot of waste for people who upgrade annually, since AirPods have an average shelf life of 2.5 years.

1) They can definitely make enough
2) All the accessories are waste at this point. Nature of the beast.

Expecting Apple to bundle airpods with their phones when they included 5W chargers with their flagship model up til the iPhone XS is comical.

I don’t disagree, not to mention, you’re going to have some consumers who don’t want the AirPods, and then they will have to pay a certain price for the bundle if Apple doesn’t allow for XYZ options. The price might be attractive to one person that wants the AirPods, but for the next person, they don’t want to pay the influx for the bundle. It’s better to keep this accessory a separate purchase, it just doesn’t appeal to an entire demographic, even though it’s a great new product.

BS. Adoption would be crazy high if 1G AirPods came in the iPhone box
