Just curious to see what phone everyone ditched for the iPhone.

I got rid of my BlackBerry Pearl for the iPhone.:)

Blackjack and I've got to say that the iPhone is a device that automatically makes every other device I use (even the pc I'm forced to use at work) seem plain ole stupid.

You know that you've done something right when everything else seems that much more flawed and un-intuitive post iphone. Its pretty remarkable.

Work today was one big show and tell

I have a SE w810i that is a wonderful, wonderful phone that I am no longer using. :) I will probably be selling it, and then buy a cheap, crappy phone for those times when I don't want to use the iPhone. The w810i is worth a little too much to use it as a backup.

I've been on a quest the past few years for that 'ultimate' device.. That quest has included a Treo 650- loved the palm calendar app but the stability issues were just too much for me to tolerate any longer.. After that I decided to try the BlackBerry (the most recent one -8260 I believe).. Loved the email capabilities but the phone was terrible- not too mention the screen just died after about a year- to be fair I am very hard on phones and this was my fault, not the BlackBerry.. After that while I waited for the iPhone to be released I went back to my Audiovox SMT5600.. Supposedly this phone does alot of things but I could never really figure out how to do anything efficiently or consistently, not to mention the battery life was terrible..

Now that I've been playing with the iPhone since Friday I really believe I may have found exactly what I'm looking for.. It's not perfect but I think I will probably be an iPhone user for quite some time- especially as it gets better and better with each new version..

Hmm... It seems most people upgraded from semi-decent phones. (Except for you, Lixivial)
Not me.
I have a bare bones Samsung with no text messages, a crappy Media Mall thing that I have never used (or bothered to learn how to use), a horrible speaker, and no camera.
And I still have to use it until my Apple Store actually gets a shipment of iPhones (been two days without one).

From a long line of smartphones;

Qualcomm pdq (Sprint)
Kyocera 6035 (Sprint)
Palm Treo 600 (Sprint)
Siemens SX66 (Cingular)
Palm Treo 650 (Cingular)
HP HW6510 (Cingular)
Cingular 8525 (Cingular)
Palm Treo 750 (Cingular)

Treo 650. I loved it, especially the Agendus Calendar software. I wish the included Calendar widget was half as good Agendus :(

Cingular 8125.

Thing was slow and ancient compared to my new iPhone.

I do however wish it had more features that I think would make it the ultimate phone.

Such as voice dialing, Exchange server support without IMAP, better handled file handling but maybe later :):D

My almost four year old Sony Ericsson T616. What a little warrior. I dropped it so many times and still worked perfectly. It still looked pretty good and people asked me about it b/c it had a white opal faceplate and was so small. I hope my iphone is as sturdy and dependable.

Treo 680, and I am missing my
- search function
- copy and paste
- IMAP push email with my personal domain
- custom SMTP profiles
- eReader dictionary and thesaurus
- contact and appointment categories
- week / useful month view
- multi-month calendar view
- to dos
- sync with my Outlook notes
- currency /measurement converter
- Weight Watchers mobile client

But, despite all that, I LOVE my iPhone and wouldn't go back. I'll just suffer in semi-silence until version 2.0 of the iPhone software... ;)

Sony Ericsson K800i (European version purchased on eBay).

I miss the FM Radio and Mini Golf, but not much else. However, being 3G, it was usable in Japan so I'll miss that feature on my next business trip.

Blackberry Pearl - also!

I think a lot of Pearl users not tied to corporate email will switch once they realize all the stuff they bought the Pearl for actually works on the iPhone.

Blackjack

And before that:

Blackberry 82xx (can't remember which one)
Blackberry 73xx
Nokia (with the flip out left/right keyboard)

How do you use it?

Blackberry Pearl

I was one of those tied to corporate e-mail, and am trying to find solutions. Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with exchange IMAP yet? Not that I even really know what that means, but I know there's got to be a better way to access my e-mail than logging onto my www.company.com/exchange

But I seriously LOVE LOVE LOVE the iPhone so far, and I think we have a lot of perks to look forward to in the coming weeks!
