Hi guys,

I currently have a blackberry that isn't entirely broken, but enough to make me want/need a new phone. The non-existant apps of Instagram among many others is also starting to bother me (everyone has it). I'm still on contract, so i'm not willing to shell out 6-800 for an iphone 5.

I was looking at the nexus 4 and the iphone 4s. The price range is good, 350-400 (mind you, the 4s wouldn't be off the apple site, it would have to be off someone private). I would prefer apple, but the 4s is starting to be quite old, especially with new iphone(s) coming out this year.

What do you guys think i should do?

The Nexus 4 sounds like your best option. Great price and I love mine. Performance has been flawless. No lag whatsoever and a great selection of apps to boot.

Ah, i see you have the 8GB model. Do you feel that's too little space or is it enough?

4S is still a very good phone. I have one. But I'm kind of weary where iOS is going and what features I'll potentially miss out on with iOS 7 like iPhone 4 owners and iOS 6 + Siri (which was 4S exclusive when it was released).

Yeah, it seems like if i were to spend $350-400 on an iphone 4s for maybe 6-12 months it wouldn't be that great of an investment. Starting to lean to the Nexus 4. The nexus 4 would be worth more in about 6-9 months, right?

Nexus devices hold their value ok. How long till your contract expires? The S4 will be coming out and eventually the next iPhone. Might be worth the wait if you can hold out.

It works just fine for me as I have the iPod for the bulk of my media and games and use Google Music to get music on my phone. I was worried about the limited space when I got it but it has ended up working perfectly. Nexus devices also hold their value much better than most Android devices. Nexus S's are still going for $200+ on ebay unlocked. They're like the iPhone of the Android world.

I still have about a year left on it. Contracts here in Canada are 3 years, not the standard 2 in the states. Pretty dumb but that's the way it is here :(

Have you gone to your carrier to see if they can let you upgrade early? Also, what do you like about your blackberry, have you looked at the Z10?

From what you said thus far, I think the Nexus 4 might be your best bet, though I would suggest the 16gb model.

I would go with the Nexus 4 as well. I'm enjoying it thus far - keep in mind, I'm an Apple-guy.

The value for the price can't be beat: perfect phone to last a year.

I agree with this.

I also think that the iPhone 4S is superb, IMHO Apples best phone to date. Best bang for your buck IMHO is the Nexus 4, for the price, it just can't be beat.
