This is my 1st post and sorry if this was asked before.

I've a unlocked 3GS and would like to try T-mobile. What is the cheap
and best plan (with sms) and possibly cheap internet?

thanks

That wasn't his question.

OP, if you're in the US, you can get 500 minutes, unlimited text, and unlimited web for $59.99.

I would go for that plan as a comparable AT&T plan is $30 more. But if you want to skimp, you can go with a $39 talking plan and pick and choose a text OR data plan.

I'm kinda in the same boat, except with a 2G (which shouldn't matter as in the US all we can get is EDGE on our iPhones anyways).

I'd like to have the cheapest talking ($39?), minimum (or paid per text message) and unlimited data. I had heard at one time you could get the $5.99 t-zones but now T-Mo has taken that away from iPhone users? Which leaves the $19.99 internet plan, so it really doesn't gain me anything (other than coverage) correct? I'm currently paying $59.99 for 450 min, 200 text and unlimited data.

I have 500min/Unlimited Text/Unlimited Data for $60.

Check Their Website

Incorrect... T-Mob has got unlimited everything for $59.00 per month... you will need to add another 20 for unlimited data... This used to only be for longtime customers.. (I have been on the plan since last year) Go to their site for more info... ....

They also have a dedicated "Unsupported Devices" (AKA iphone support) Technical support line. I have had to call a couple of times when their network changes have effected my phone.... Their support and customer service rocks... Far superior to ATT.

Is this for their contracted plan? I'm on the no-contract plan and its only $60/mo for 500min/Unlimited Text & Data. Don't have to add another $20 for data.

No contract? Now that'd be nice! I was hoping to get away with a 1 yr contract but this is even better!

So a side question...have you all been happy with your coverage? I had T-Mo (in Denver) before I switched to my iPhone and I was very happy with them (mostly 5 bars, great customer service). When I switched to the iPhone I had 3 bars but now I'm down to 1/0 bars and I'm afraid that T-Mo's network will not offer anything much better (as more & more smartphones jump on their network). Have you found coverage to be adequate?

(sorry to the OP for hijacking but cost and coverage are my two big concerns with switching)

02 less then £5 a month

I get 600 mins,,1000 text....unlimited internet....sim only deal..

i use my Iphone 2g....

less then £5 a month...

did buy Iphone 2g on pay as you go...

If you can convince them to do it, you can get the $10 regular internet for phones instead of the smartphone plan. Add the cheapest plan which is $30, you have $40 a month before taxes. Taxes are pretty standard at 18%, so you're looking at $50 after taxes and "fees."

That doesn't sound like it works in the United States unless the OP feels like paying $10/min for roaming.

There are a lot better mobile phone deals in the UK than the US.

Just curious though, what deal is this?

Not to sound rude, but check out their website... They have contract and non-contract plans.

Right now Non Contract Everything (Including Data) = $79.00 per month

Yeah, normally I'd agree with you but in the case of T-Mo I've heard that depending on the CSR you get, you can negotiate different deals. And some people say tell them you're an iPhone user and they'll set you up, while others say tell them nothing and sweet talk them to get the $5.99 t-zones deal (now apparently almost impossible to get).

Then I've heard there's ways of getting a 1 year contract (which I'd be willing to do) but I don't find that on their website. I also thought there was a 350 min calling plan, which might save me a little dough, which can't be found on their site any longer. And do they offer a price difference on their web EDGE access versus their web 3G, like how AT&T does? Can't find that on their site either.

What I really need to do is call them, but like I've said, it sounds like you can get different offers from different reps, and I want to go in prepared.

Any thoughts, tips, and/or suggestions from everybody on switching is appreciated!
