I need some advice in what polishing liquid products to purchase to remove fine scratches and restore shine to white plastic surface of Mac accessories.

Specifically, I am trying to restore an Apple iPod Hi-Fi which I scored secondhand that is in near pristine condition without any yellowing (rare), except for some fine scratches and loss of shine to many patches of the white plastic casing.

From my research of old threads posted here and elsewhere, there are a few products available. However, due to age of these threads, almost all of the mentioned products are no longer available.

There are only two products still currently on the market: Novus Plastic Polishing Kit (Step 1, 2, 3) from Novus, Ice Creme from RadTech. Older products such as Applesauce Polish and NewerTech Clean & Polish Kit are no longer available.

Other threads here and elsewhere on recommended polishing products are for metal surfaces such as those on Apple Watches. I am looking specifically to restore plastic surfaces.

Can someone please offer some shopping advice and polishing advice?

I can't recommend any other products than the ones you already mentioned.

What you might want to try is visit a local shop that does mobile phone repair (if there is such a place near you, and better yet has a good rating) and see what they have to say? I doubt whether an actual Apple Store would be able to help, but again if nearby then maybe worth it?

Good luck.

At an auto supply store, you can buy a liquid polish designed for restoring plastic headlamps/headlights, such as Meguiar's PlastX.

I have also used toothpaste with very good results on the plastic display covers for electronics. Just take lots of time and apply very little pressure and you will get things looking great. Remember the enemy of good enough is better!
