What productivity organiser app are you using, what could it do better?

We have recently launched our new Tasklinks Organiser app, it handles email, calendar events, tasks, contacts and files and allows you to add/link all this data into simple projects.

v.2.1 is currently in development and will include more email service providers and further contact integration.

This is a new project and we want to build a valuable and reliable base of users who can feedback on features and functions and help drive the future direction of development for Tasklinks.

I'm big on to-do apps. I've tried them all. For the most part I've stuck with OmniFocus because it offers the flexibility I need with recurring tasks.

I want to choose how often something happens - every X days/weeks/months. A lot of apps force you to choose from pre-defined intervals - once per day, weekdays, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.

Another must along those same lines is the ability to choose WHEN a task reoccurs - is the next occurrence based on the date it was originally due or the date of completion - I need the ability to set both.

Not even sure your app has a to-do type of function but I would assume so. So hopefully that helps a bit.

Thanks for the quick feedback and interesting considerations for Tasks.

Currently you can quickly turn emails into tasks and set basic Tasks, we are not fans of large task/to-do lists, especially when you start creating endless folders and sub folders and lists, we feel this is counter productive as you end up managing a large task/todo inbox.

We believe tasks are disposable items that are linked to actionable items like emails, events, contacts or files. Of course you will set up individual tasks and todo notes but rather then create endless to-do lists the aim of Tasklinks is you would create a list as a file and action that to a Task, once that task is complete it is disposed but the list remains re-useable(ie assign another task)/editable.

The idea of creating tasks that reoccur is certainly in the pipeline and functions you mention we will review in terms of the best way to apply them to give the user the most flexibility without complicating the set up process.

Tasklinks 2.1 goes live with added email support

Tasklinks V2.1 adds mail support for iCloud, Yahoo, Hotmail and Outlook with auto configure settings.

Along with added mail support we have introduced more email functionality and integrated contacts so that they are automatically added to projects when you link emails. Contacts can now be manually added to Projects in the contact section and details imported from your address book.

Very valid concern, Tasklinks does not read password data, we firstly would not dream of doing that but secondly to help put your mind at rest you can read the Apple guidelines for developers regarding the app review process and the security requirements at https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/ .Apple also make it pretty hard to open a developer account without the right credentials. It does not mean that some people might try and bend the rules but you have to trust us, we are not one of them.
