I'm thinking of getting a MBA. Being that it's been out for a bit now, and tested. I was wondering what programs don't run well (e.g., time lag with videos)? It would help if you mention which model you have. Any lag time when running multiple apps?. I imagine it can run Safari, MS Office, etc fine.

I like the fact that it only weighs 3lbs, but hesitant because it's rev A. I'm debating between the MBA and MBP.

Thx,
P

Hi hi,

I've got Photoshop, Flash, Firefox and Pages all cookin up a storm on my 1.6. I used to have an issue where Word took ~30secs to boot up, but no more since I used OnyX to clean things up and fix those elusive permissions.

I went to the Mac store today to think about swapping for an MBP and decided against it. If this was my only computer, I might consider it more seriously.

A couple years ago, a 1.6ghz dual core laptop with 2gigs of ram would never be doubted for a second -- and over this same time apps have had a trend to be lighter-weight. (Remember CS1? Yikes.)

I have a macbook Pro 2.2 with 4GB ram and an MacBook Air 1.6. All of the same apps are on both and the Air runs very well. Little noticeable difference for the kinds of things I do

Thanks everyone for posting a response.

There are still a few folks having issues watching youtube videos on their MBA. They mentioned bad lag times. I'm thinking this is more of an isolated issue.

So one of my PC's has the following specs:
Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz
1GB RAM
vid card is a GEForce FX 5500 (from 2004, I think it's 256mb).

Wouldn't a MBA be able to smoke this computer in probably all aspects, besides maybe gaming? The PC handles all applications (MS Office, videos in general, filemaker, etc) without any issues.

THx
