This poll should give them an idea of poorly received most of their tones... are.
I disagree. A poll of what ringtones people use doesn't tell you anything about how unpopular the ringtones are in general, because the question was not gathering that information.
The poll only tells you the distribution of what people chose for their ringtones. If the majority lean toward one ringtone, it doesn't automatically mean they hate the selection. In fact, such a poll provides you no data in that regard unless the question being asked is "How would you rate the overall selection?" and if the average answer is below 3 on a scale of 1 to 5 where 5 is best, THEN you have data to arrive at the conclusion that people dislike the selection.
Furthermore, because Marimba happens to be the default tone, the poll as it is currently phrased cannot tell you whether the reason the majority chose Marimba is because they liked it best, or because they disliked one or several or all of the other ringtones, or because they simply haven't yet bothered to explore options outside the default ringtone (though statistically speaking this last one is probably the most likely reason as the majority of cell phone users do not customize their ringtones to begin with).
Granted, I personally agree that the ringtone selection seems narrow (but then I'm a technogeek who also mastered the touchscreen keyboard in less than a day and I wouldn't assume my views are shared by the majority) and it will obviously broaden in the near future as file management becomes available, but you cannot say that this informal poll, with the question phrased as it is, provides data to support the idea that the selection that does exist is poorly received.... and if I may pick one last nit:
There is a difference between not having a large enough selection and disliking the selection that exists. There's a different survey question to arrive at either of these conclusions...e.g. you cannot ask "Is the selection large enough?" and conclude that the ringtones that exist are generally disliked.
