Hello, I'm getting ready to retire a Time Capsule I've used for years as both wifi router and backup location for Time Machine.

What systems are you using for Time Machine over wifi that are working?

I would like to replace the Time Capsule with a new wifi router (that will hopefully expand range a bit) and connected external drive. I've read posts about people having issues with some setups using Time Machine like this.

👾For wifi routers some of the options I'm considering are the TP-Link AX3000 or Eero Pro 6, but I'm open to others. For the hard drive I would be happy using a simple lacie or western digital and attaching it via USB. However, it seems like a simple external hard drive may not be enough and I may need an NAS drive (I've never owned an NAS drive before). If I need an NAS some of the options that look like they might work are the Synology DS120j or DS118.

So, if anyone has a setup that they really like I'd be happy to go with that.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions 😀
