What should I test for new ATV3 when it is delivered these two days?

I have bought ATV3 and will have it delivered by these few days. I'm going to connect ATV3 with HDMI to Panasonic plasma and optical to my Yamaha av receiver. What test items should I go through to make sure atv3 operational?

My gears such as iMac, new ATV3... will be wired with cat5e through a gigabit siwtch but leave 801.11g for connecting to ipad2 via DD-wrt router.

Any suggestion? Tks for adv in advance.

I guess the easiest way to see if your ATV3 is operational is to plug it in and turn it on.
