Got my MBP and now need some speakers. I dont want those little weenie speakers on the desk, I just want like good speakers I can put under my desk. Ive looked up some already and thinking about these:

If anyone has one of these please let me know how u like them. Also what is the difference between these two? Thanks!

I have Bose Companion 3 speakers & subwoofer hooked up to my MacBook Pro and they are phenomenal. Unless you are dead set on buying one of the two models you listed in your post, I would check out what Bose has to offer. :)

Harmon Kardon Soundsticks II
I have had these for a year and they are great if you have an airport express you can play music wireless through itunes they are just great though best investment

As will probably be recommended by many others, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system is phenomenal for the price.

Not to split hairs, but if you were looking at those two sets, wouldn't they go on top your desk? Not under?

Heh seriously... it is a waste to be putting monitors under a desk. Or any speakers for that matter

If you want a 2.1 set that takes advantage of the optical out, look no further.

The only 2.1 optical setup I've seen (that is all one package, of course). They cost a bit to ship as they are from Canada, but even so, still the best value I've found out there (speaking from lots of research, not personal opinion, though, so take it as you will). If you want something more mainstream or space saving, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 can be had for an excellent price from Amazon. The sub is a bit boomy/overpowering, but still a great set.

I've used the SoundSticks II on my G5 Tower for three years and they still sound awesome.

only problem with the soundsticks is that you can't raise the volume too loud. If you trying to fill anything more then a 8X12 room you can't blast them.

i beg to differ on this these things are load if you got the itunes volume thing cranked dn the speakers manual toudch sensitive controls up they are really looud
