what specs is best ?

The PC is for gaming and since its not much for gaming on my mac so i am about to purchase one of these.. and since i am a moron in specs

Go n2, but replace the video card!
Both 250 and 4650 are pretty cheap cards.
The new 5000 series are out and can be bought really cheap and will give you a lot better performance.

I've seen also 4890s as low as 1200 DKR which will triple the frame rates compared to the 4650 (or 250)!
Or 4870s for around 850 DKR!

This can be done later tho, on both machines.

To chime in for the nVidia side, also look at the 260 to start, or preferably a 275 as it shares features with the 285 and is neck-to-neck performance wise give or take on the game. The 250 is a repackaged 9800, which isn't bad, but it's really just a 8800 -- but on that ramble, console derived games don't need even that much, given they weren't coded by morons.

The one advantage for nVidia over ATI for games, is that it can handle physics -- but it's really no big deal. Anyways, I use them on the PC, mainly because ATI cuts corners for the sake of gaming, where as nVidia does not, this causes problems in apps like Maya. There's also CUDA apps, which ATI can't run.

In the long run the quad is better, but you'll see better performance with the Duo Core 2 in some games now, only because of its higher clock speed.

How much can you get a Q9550 for in your region? It's a 2.8 Core 2 Quad with a 12 meg cache. The 8800 only has a 4 mb cache. I can get that proc for $159 in my area(Souther CA).

Another option, is the i7 860. The CPU is about $229 US where I live, and the mobo from Asus starts about $160. Anyways, it's not as feature rich as the 9xx i7s, but performance wise it screams for a quite a bit less, as its dual channel memory and mobo cost less than the tripple channel memory required for 9xx procs.
