Hi, I was going to upgrade the ram on my laptop and was wondering what type of memory is in SR MBPs out of the factory. Are they DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 modules?

Thx

According to System Profiler in my machine it is 667Mhz. See for yourself. Click on the Apple Icon, choose About This Mac, click on More Info... and the choose Memory on the lefthand side.

Thx guys, then I guess I won't wait for the 2GB DDR2-800 modules to come out.

Didnt they say SantaRosa has 800mhz bus? Whats the point if the ram cant keep up??

It runs asynch. Dumb, I know. But really, its not a big deal on Intel systems. If they were AMD, this would be a serious problem, but Intel chips don't see a significant performance hit by running asynch.

Besides, if they were 800MHz modules, the latencies would probably be through the roof (they're high enough as it is...).
