As seems to be a common problem in Monterey, I'm having issues with Quicklook not working (either spacebar doesn't activate it or I get a thumbnail instead of an actual big preview (and videos don't play). So I go to relaunch Finder (which fixes this until it decides to randomly happen again), and noticed something bizarre. The Finder icon has changed to Google Chrome's icon! EDIT: I now see that QuickTime Player's icon is also wrong!

As soon as I relaunched Finder, it changed back to the proper Finder icon, but I have NEVER seen it do that before. So weird!

I find it easier to relaunch Finder from the Dock: Option (⌥) + right-click on Finder - Relaunch

it's a glitch, and glitches happen all the time. boot into safe mode, then boot again normally...

Well, yeah, it's obviously a glitch. But it's a very bizarre one. As I mentioned, it resolved itself once I relaunched Finder, so there was no need to reboot in any way.

Good tip - I wouldn't have guessed that you had to hold option BEFORE right-clicking (or left/clicking/holding), as that's different than every other app (where you can hold option at any time before or after right-clicking). Wonder why it's not consistent.

everyone thinks the glitch they experience is 'bizarre'... but glad it's sorted, and you've now got that shortcut to relaunch the finder.

Not really. Many glitches I've encountered I've seen in other programs before or are similar in nature and thus I would not call them bizarre. Never before have I seen one app "usurp" another app's icon, though. Thus why I label this as bizarre (as far as my experience goes).
