Hi there,

Well then, my iphone 'broke' so I had no choice to restore it back to 1.12, which it was on perfectly on an 02 sim, I assume jailbroken.

Well when I restored, I needed to know how to jailbreak so then everything is normal...I followed the guide in which you enter the contact list, go to jailbreakme.com etc... however when i click 'install app snap' it quickly just goes back to the activate screen...not the springboard as mentioned in the guide... so back to square one in affect.

Whats happening?..Now in itunes it says the activate iphone screen etc...what do I do people?

Going back to 1.1.2 is not a good idea at this stage as the way in which the various jailbreaks work now has changed a lot. I suggest you download and restore with a clean version of 1.1.4 and then use pwnage to jailbreak, since this is the cleanest tool available at this stage. The how to for pwnage is a sticky on the forum and it takes you through the whole process for 1.1.4 for both MAC and PC.

Jailbreakme.com ONLY works on 1.1.1!

Upgrade using iTunes to 1.1.4 - you will have to download the firmware and select it manually as iTunes will now upgrade you to 2.0 which isn't hacked yet!

So restore to 1.1.4 - use iLiberty+ to jailbreak/unlock.

If you feel up to it use pwnage as thats even better - read the FAQ.
